10 Nature Conservancy Scholarships

Nature Conservancy Scholarships have been available for students who are apt to study ways we can conserve and preserve nature.

We mostly talk about property destruction, loss of life, change in water availability, and some other sudden effect caused by climate change. But we mostly fail to mention the potential long-term effect it will have on nature, and human physical, and mental health.

We mostly fail to mention that when we don’t start taking extreme measures on nature conservation there will be extreme weather events, which means we’ll be seeing more floods, droughts, extreme heat, wildfires, and hurricanes in high propensity.

Life in its entirety needs our help, not just humans, but also far depths of oceans, forests, and mountains, it might not seem like they do, but there’s a steady decline going on.

When we start working earnestly to conserve our nature, our children will still have the beauty of nature to enjoy, and we appreciate your effort so far to partake in a career in conservation. So we have compiled these nature conservancy scholarships, to enable you to pursue your career with less financial burden.

But, before we discuss these scholarships, let’s first know what Nature Conservancy means and the benefits of nature conservation to the environment.

Nature Conservancy Scholarships

What Does Nature Conservancy Involve?

Nature Conservation means the protection of species from extinction or harm. It can include maintaining and restoring habitats and protecting biological diversity as well as preventing the wasteful use of resources. To achieve this in the environment a non-profit organization known as Nature Conservancy was founded.

The Nature Conservancy is a global environmental non-profit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. It was founded in the U.S. through grassroots action in 1951, the Nature Conservancy has grown to become one of the most effective and wide-reaching environmental organizations in the world.

This came through due to the dedicated efforts of more than a million members,  different staff, and over 400 scientists.

Nature conservancy focuses majorly on addressing the issue of Climate Change, protecting land and water on which all life depends. TNC develops innovative and practical solutions to the world’s most difficult challenges so that nature and people can thrive together.

TNC  moves with the vision of having a world where the diversity of life thrives, and people act to conserve nature for its own sake and its ability to fulfill our needs and enrich our lives.

How Nature Conservation Benefits the Environment

The natural environment gives us a wealth of services that are difficult to measure in dollars. Briefly, I will discuss some benefits Nature conservation proffers for the environment. They include:

  • Clean Air and Water
  • Provision of Food and habitat
  • Improved Waterway

1. Clean Air and Water

Natural areas help clean our air, purify our water, produce food and medicines, reduce chemical and noise pollution, slow floodwaters, and cool our streets. And all these put together are called ‘ecosystem services’.

2. Provision of Food and habitat

Nature serves as food and habitat for wildlife Lizards, fish, frogs, and waterbirds feed on wetland plants, small fish, worms, crayfish, and aquatic insects. These smaller animals, along with bacteria, break down dead organisms that sink to the bottom, which produces nutrients that help wetland plants grow.

3. Improved Waterway

Improved waterway health Wetlands purify water from drains and natural waterways. Reeds, plants, and algae help filter toxins, chemicals, harmful bacteria, and sediment. This is further broken down by small animals and microorganisms in the silt. Cleaner water is then returned to rivers and creeks.

With these benefits and more, we can establish the fact that we are happier, healthier, wealthier, and smarter around nature.
